Chevrolet Traverse facts for kids
The Chevrolet Traverse is a large family car made by General Motors under its Chevrolet brand. It's a type of vehicle called a crossover (CUV), which means it combines features of an SUV (like being roomy and having a higher driving position) with the comfortable ride of a regular car. The Traverse first came out for the 2009 model year.
Chevrolet designed the Traverse to be like a minivan but without the sliding side doors. It replaced two older Chevrolet vehicles in North America: the Chevrolet Uplander, which was a minivan, and the Chevrolet TrailBlazer, which was an SUV. In South America, it took the place of the Grand Blazer. The Traverse is built using a special design called a unibody platform, which means its body and frame are built as one strong piece.
