History of Chickasaw
Chickasaw was first planned out in 1838. It was named after the Chickasaw Native American tribe.
A post office, where people could send and receive mail, opened in Chickasaw in 1840. The village officially became a town (or "incorporated") in 1890. This meant it could have its own local government.
