Chico Albuquerque (born April 25, 1917 – died December 26, 2000) was a famous Brazilian photographer. He was born in the city of Fortaleza.
Chico came from a family of photographers, as both his parents also worked with cameras. He became very good at taking portraits, which are special photos of people.
In 1948, Chico made history! He was the first Brazilian photographer to create an advertisement campaign using real photos for a big company called J. W. Thompson. Before him, advertisements in Brazil only used drawings and illustrations. His amazing work was shown all over the world and he won many awards in places like Frankfurt, Turin, and Buenos Aires.
Chico Albuquerque passed away on December 26, 2000, after a health problem.

- 1950 - He won 1st Place and a Golden Medal at Foto Cine Brasileiro in Rio de Janeiro.
- 1951 - He received a Bronze Medal at the 10th International Photography Fair in São Paulo.
- 1953 - He earned a Golden Medal for his portraits at the Frankfurt International exhibition.
- 1953 - He won a Silver Medal at the 6th International Photography Fair in San Sebastian, Spain.
- 1958 - He was honored with the Troféu da Escola de Propaganda de São Paulo.
- 1998 - He received the National Photography Award from Funarte in Rio de Janeiro.
