First awarded | 2001 |
The Children's Book of the Year Award: Early Childhood is a special prize given every year in Australia. It celebrates the best books for young children who are just starting to read or are still listening to stories. The Children's Book Council of Australia (CBCA) has been giving out this award since 2001.
This award looks for amazing books that can be stories, plays, poems, or books that teach new ideas. These books are often picture books where the pictures are a big part of telling the story or explaining a concept. They are perfect for kids who are learning to read or who love to have stories read to them.
