China Resources Holdings Company Limited, or simply China Resources, is a very large company. It is owned by the Chinese government. This company has many different businesses. You can find its operations in Hong Kong and Mainland China. Some of its smaller companies use the short name CRC.

History of China Resources
The company began in Hong Kong in 1938. It was first called Liow & Company. Its main goal was to gather money and buy supplies. These supplies were for the Eighth Route Army and later the People's Liberation Army. These armies were involved in the Chinese Civil War at that time.
In 1948, the company changed its name. It became China Resources Corporation. Later, in 1983, it was officially set up as China Resources (Holdings) Company Limited.
What China Resources Does
China Resources focuses on sending products from mainland China to Hong Kong. This includes important things like energy.
Retail Businesses
The company also runs many stores. Its retail stores are part of the China Resources Retail group. This group includes stores like Chinese Arts & Crafts. They also have many supermarkets in Hong Kong. These supermarkets used to be called CRC. Now, they are known as Vanguard.
Other Important Businesses
China Resources owns Ng Fung Hong. This company is the main importer of meat into Hong Kong.
Another big part of China Resources is China Resources Cement. This company makes cement. It is the largest producer of a key cement ingredient called clinker in Southern China. It is also the second largest producer of concrete in China. China Resources Cement started in 2003.
