China Resources Holdings Company Limited, often called China Resources, is a huge company owned by the Chinese government. It runs many different businesses in Hong Kong and Mainland China. Some of its smaller companies use the short name CRC.

History of China Resources
How China Resources Started
China Resources began in Hong Kong in 1938. Back then, it was known as Liow & Company. Its main job was to collect money and buy important supplies. These supplies and equipment were for the Eighth Route Army and later the People's Liberation Army. These groups were involved in the Chinese Civil War at the time.
Becoming China Resources Corporation
In 1948, the company changed its name to China Resources Corporation. Later, in 1983, it officially became China Resources (Holdings) Company Limited. This change made it a formal corporation.

China Resources focuses on sending products from mainland China to Hong Kong. This includes important things like energy. The company has many different types of businesses.
Retail and Supermarkets
Its retail businesses are part of the China Resources Retail group. This group includes stores like Chinese Arts & Crafts. China Resources also runs many supermarkets in Hong Kong. These stores were once called CRC but are now known as Vanguard. The company also owns Ng Fung Hong, which is the main company that imports meat into Hong Kong.
Cement Production
China Resources Cement is a very large producer of cement in Southern China. It makes a special type of cement material called clinker. It is also one of the biggest concrete makers in China. This part of the company was started in 2003.
