Chisholm is a small community located in the town of Jay, in Franklin County, Maine, United States. It's known as a census-designated place (CDP). This means it's a special area identified by the government for counting people, but it's not a separate town or city.
In 2010, about 1,380 people lived here. Chisholm is an industrial village. It was named after Hugh J. Chisholm. He built a large paper company here in 1888. This company used the strong flow of the Androscoggin River to power its machines.

Chisholm is found on the southern edge of the town of Jay. It is very close to the town of Livermore Falls. This town is in Androscoggin County. Chisholm and Livermore Falls share a connected urban area.
The community covers about 5.66 square kilometers (2.19 square miles) of land. It sits on the east side of the Androscoggin River.
