Choi Bo-min (born August 24, 2000), known simply as Bomin, is a talented South Korean singer, actor, and host. He was a member of the K-pop group Golden Child. Bomin started his acting career with a main role in the web-drama A-Teen 2 in 2019. He also hosted the popular KBS music show Music Bank from July 2019 to July 2020.

Early Life and Family

Bomin was born on August 24, 2000, in Giheung-gu, Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. He is the older of two children. His younger sister, Choi Seo-bin, is also a singer and dancer. She is a K-pop idol in the 7-member girl group BADVILLAIN, where she is known as Vin.

Bomin studied at the Hanlim Multi Art School. This school is famous for training many K-pop idols and actors.

Bomin's Career Journey

Starting with Golden Child

Bomin officially began his music career with the group Golden Child. They debuted on August 28, 2017. Their first album was an EP called Gol-cha!. It included six songs, with "DamDaDi" as the main track. Golden Child held their first showcase on the same day their album was released.

Before his official debut, in May 2017, Bomin appeared in the music video for the song Now, We by the group Lovelyz.

Acting and Hosting Roles

Bomin made his acting debut in 2019 in the second season of the web-drama A-Teen. He played the character Ryu Joo-ha. In May of the same year, Bomin joined the cast of the SBS reality show Law of the Jungle in Chatham Islands. This show takes celebrities to survive in wild places.

In June 2019, Bomin became the official model for the cosmetics brand Lilybyred. From July 2019 to July 2020, he co-hosted the music program Music Bank with actress Shin Ye-eun.

Bomin also acted in the romantic comedy drama Melting Me Softly. In September 2020, he played Seo Ji-ho in the JTBC fantasy drama 18 Again. Later, in October 2020, Bomin appeared in a commercial for the LG Wing phone.

In February 2021, Bomin was chosen as an official model for the cosmetics brand Etude. On July 8, 2021, it was announced that Bomin would be in the drama Shadow Beauty.

In September 2022, Bomin had a minor injury to his face while practicing golf. On August 27, 2024, his agency, Woollim Entertainment, announced that Bomin, along with other members Tag and Ji-beom, decided not to renew their contracts. This meant they left the group Golden Child.
