Raphael Deseption "Choo" Freeman (born October 20, 1979) is a former professional baseball player. He used to play as an outfielder in Major League Baseball.

Career
Early Life and Sports
Choo Freeman was a talented athlete in high school. He played American football at Dallas Christian High School in Mesquite, Texas. He even set a state record by catching 50 touchdowns! He was chosen for the all-state team three times.
He helped his school win six state championships in different sports. He planned to play football at Texas A&M. However, he chose baseball instead. The Colorado Rockies picked him in the first round of the 1998 Major League Baseball draft.
Minor League Journey
Freeman spent four years playing in the minor leagues. These are teams where players develop their skills before joining the major leagues. In 2000, Baseball America magazine called him the Rockies' top young player.
In 2002, he moved up to the Double-A Carolina Mudcats. There, he hit for a .291 average. He also hit 12 home runs and stole 15 bases. He was chosen as a "Southern League" All-Star.
In 2003, he became the starting center fielder for the Colorado Springs Sky Sox. This was the Rockies' Triple-A team. He played well there for the next couple of seasons. His best year with the Sky Sox was in 2004. He hit .297 with 10 home runs and 50 RBI.
Major League Debut
Choo Freeman made his first appearance in Major League Baseball on June 4, 2004. He played for the Rockies against the San Francisco Giants. He came into the game as a pinch hitter.
The next day, he got his first two major league hits in his first start. However, he only hit .189 that season. He then returned to the Sky Sox in 2005.
Later Career
After hitting .280 with the Sky Sox in 2005, Freeman rejoined the Rockies. He played a few games in September. In the 2006 season, he became a full-time reserve outfielder. He played in 88 games and hit .237.
On February 2, 2007, the Rockies released Freeman. A few days later, on February 14, 2007, he signed a minor league contract. This was with the Los Angeles Dodgers. He did not make their main team after spring training.
He was sent to the Dodgers' Triple-A team, the Las Vegas 51s. He played 121 games with the 51s. He hit .270 and had 48 RBI. He became a free agent after that season.
Personal Life
Choo Freeman is a cousin to another baseball player, Torii Hunter. Choo married Jamie Freeman in 2010. They had a daughter named Zailey in 2008.
