Chris Bath (born 13 May 1967) is a well-known Australian journalist. She works as a presenter for radio and television news. Chris is also a news anchor, which means she reads the news on TV.
Currently, Chris hosts the Drive show on ABC Radio Sydney. She also presents 10 News First Weekend on Network 10. Before this, she hosted Evenings on ABC Radio Sydney from 2017 to 2019. She was also a weekend presenter for Seven News in Sydney. Chris hosted the Seven Network's current affairs show Sunday Night until 2015.

About Chris Bath
Chris Bath was born in Auburn, a suburb in Sydney's west. She grew up in South Wentworthville. Chris went to Holroyd High School. After school, she studied at Sydney University for a short time.
Family Life
In 2012, Chris Bath married Jim Wilson. He is a sports presenter and reporter for Seven News. They had been together for about four years before they got married. Chris has one son.
Chris Bath's Career Journey
Chris Bath started her career in journalism in 1988. She got advice from a newspaper columnist, Peter Bowers. He suggested she study communications at Mitchell College. This college is now known as Charles Sturt University in Bathurst.
Early Radio and TV Jobs
Chris was accepted into the course and even won a scholarship. She focused on politics during her studies. While at university, she worked as a broadcaster for the campus radio station 2MCE-FM. In 1988, she got a job at a Sydney radio station, 2UE. She worked there as a cadet reporter and newsreader.
A year later, Chris moved to Albury for a job at a regional TV station, AMV-4. She spent 20 months there. She started as a reporter and even presented the weather for a while. Eventually, she became the full-time newsreader at AMV-4.
In 1991, when she was 23, Chris joined Newcastle's NBN Television. She stayed there for five years. She was a reporter and hosted the evening local news. She left NBN in 1995 to join the Seven Network in Sydney.

Chris Bath had many different roles at the Seven Network over the years. She became a well-known face on Australian television.
Morning and Late News Roles
From 1996 to 1997, she co-hosted the 6 am news bulletin. This show later became Sunrise. In 1997, she hosted Face to Face, a Sunday morning political interview show. She also presented Seven's Late News.
In 1998, Chris was a reporter for Witness. This was the network's main current affairs program. She also presented the Sydney 6 pm news during the summer. In 1999, she returned to Seven Late News. She also read afternoon news bulletins on a Sydney radio station.
Olympic Games and Dancing with the Stars
In 2000, Chris was part of Seven's team for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. She even carried the Olympic Torch in Newcastle. She had the special honor of co-hosting the start of the Opening Ceremony live at the Olympic Stadium.
After her son was born in late 2000, she returned to TV in 2001. She presented Sunday Sunrise for three years. She also presented Sydney's weekend 6 pm news bulletin.
In 2005, Chris was a contestant on Dancing with the Stars. She danced with professional partner Trenton Shipley. She often got the highest scores from the judges. Chris finished second in the competition. Home and Away actor Ada Nicodemou won that season.
Key Presenting Roles

In January 2014, Mark Ferguson took over as the weeknight anchor. Chris continued to present the 6 pm news on Friday and Saturday. She also kept hosting Sunday Night. In June 2015, Chris announced she would leave the Seven Network. She had worked there for twenty years.
Moving to Network 10
After leaving Seven, Chris Bath appeared on Network Ten shows. These included Studio 10 and The Project. In 2017, she was a regular co-host of The Sunday Project.
In December 2018, it was announced that Chris would join Network 10. She would present 10 News First Weekend. She took over from Natarsha Belling.
Working at the ABC
Chris Bath worked for ABC Radio Sydney from November 2016 until the end of 2019. She hosted the Evenings show across New South Wales and the ACT.
In November 2017, Chris narrated a six-part documentary series. It was called Keeping Australia Safe for ABC TV. She also filled in for other hosts on ABC News NSW. She left ABC Radio at the end of 2019.
In November 2024, the ABC announced that Chris would return to ABC Radio Sydney. She will host the Drive show starting in January 2025.
