Chris Ferrie (born 1982) is a Canadian physicist and a popular author of children's books. He is known for making complex science topics easy and fun for young readers.

Chris Ferrie: A Scientist Who Writes for Kids
Chris Ferrie is a scientist who loves to explain big ideas in a simple way. He has written many books that help kids learn about science, from quantum physics to rocket science. He also works as a researcher and lecturer.
His Journey in Science
Chris Ferrie grew up in Canada. He studied at the University of Waterloo, where he earned three degrees. These included a bachelor's degree in mathematical physics and a PhD in applied mathematics. His PhD focused on how probability works in quantum mechanics.
After his studies, he worked as a researcher at the University of New Mexico. Later, he moved to Australia. Since 2017, he has been a senior lecturer at the Centre for Engineer Quantum Systems at the University of Technology Sydney. This means he teaches and does research on quantum systems.
Writing Books for Young Minds
Chris Ferrie is most famous for creating the Baby University book series. These books are designed to introduce complicated subjects to very young children. His book, Quantum Physics for Babies, is especially popular. It has even been referenced by other scientists!
Videos and Other Projects
In 2017, Chris Ferrie started a video series called "Physics For Babies". In these videos, he and an animated koala named Mengmeng teach basic physics. They cover topics like quantum physics, optics, and electromagnetism. The series uses stories, lessons, and games to make learning fun. It was very popular in China.
From 2018 to 2019, Ferrie worked on another book series. It was called "Red Kangaroo Thousands Physics Whys". This series explains everyday science in a simple way. It features conversations between Dr. Chris and a cute Red Kangaroo. The books cover five main themes, including everyday physics and quantum physics. Many kindergartens in China use these books.
Chris Ferrie also joined an Australian science podcast called Sci-gasm in 2020. He is married and has four children.
