Christ The King Presbyterian Church is a church located in Cambridge, Massachusetts. It is part of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). The church was started in 1995. It meets in a beautiful old building that used to be known as the Prospect Congregational Church. You can find it at 99 Prospect Street, close to Central Square.

History of the Building

The church building is very old and has an interesting history. It was built in 1851. A well-known architect named Alexander Rice Esty designed it. The building was first used by a group called the First Evangelical Congregational Church. This group formed in 1827.

In 1982, the building was added to the National Register of Historic Places. This is a special list of important historical buildings in the United States. In 1985, the original church group joined with another church. After that, the building was empty for a while.

Then, in 1995, Christ the King Presbyterian Church bought the building. Christ the King had started just one year before, in 1994. They were a new church group looking for a home.

What Happens Today

Christ the King Presbyterian Church is a busy place today. They have worship services every Sunday morning at 10:30. They also offer special classes called Sunday school for both young people and adults.

The church has different groups for men and women. They also have a music program and community groups where people can connect. Christ the King is also involved in international missions, helping people around the world.

For a while, Christ the King was part of a group of churches connected to Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York. They also helped start new churches in the New England area. Some of these new churches are in places like Dorchester (started in 2008), Newton (2010), Hanover (2011), Roslindale, Jamaica Plain/Roxbury, and Somerville. The Newton church group meets at St. Mary's Episcopal Church on Sunday evenings.
