Christian Eyenga Moenge (born June 22, 1989) is a professional basketball player from Congo. He currently plays for Lobos Plateados de la BUAP in Mexico. Christian was chosen by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2009 NBA draft. He was the 30th player picked that year. Before joining the NBA, he played for a Spanish team called Prat.

Christian Eyenga's Basketball Journey

Playing in the NBA

Christian Eyenga joined the Cleveland Cavaliers for the 2010 NBA Summer League. He officially signed a two-year contract with the Cavaliers on July 23, 2010. This was a big step in his career.

In November, Eyenga was sent to the NBA Development League (now called the G-League). This league helps players get more experience. He played for the Erie BayHawks. On January 2, he was called back to play for the Cavaliers. He made his first NBA game that same day against the Dallas Mavericks. In that game, he scored 4 points and got 3 rebounds.

In March 2012, Eyenga was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers. This trade also involved another player, Ramon Sessions. Later, in August 2012, he was traded again to the Orlando Magic. However, the Magic decided to release him in October 2012.

After leaving the Magic, Eyenga was picked by the Texas Legends. This team is also part of the NBA D-League. He left the Legends briefly in January 2013 to play in China. But he returned to the Legends in February 2013.

Playing Overseas

Christian Eyenga has played for many teams outside of the NBA. In October 2011, he played for Joventut Badalona in Spain. This happened during a time when NBA games were paused.

In January 2013, he signed with a team in China called Shanxi Zhongyu. He only stayed there for a month before returning to the United States.

In July 2013, Eyenga moved to Poland. He signed with Stelmet Zielona Góra. He then signed with another Polish team, Turów Zgorzelec, in August 2014. But he left that team in September 2014. In November 2014, he signed a one-year contract with an Italian team, Pallacanestro Varese.

In July 2015, he joined Dinamo Sassari, who were champions in Italy. He played for them during the 2015–16 season. In February 2016, he left Dinamo Sassari and signed with Auxilium CUS Torino for the rest of that season.

Eyenga returned to Pallacanestro Varese in August 2016 for the 2016–17 season. In May 2017, he signed with the Spanish club Unicaja.

In July 2017, Eyenga signed with Fuenlabrada for the 2017–18 season. He played very well that season. He even won an award called ACB Most Spectacular Player. This award is given to the player who makes the most exciting plays. He stayed with Fuenlabrada for several years, signing new deals in 2020 and 2021.

In November 2023, he signed with Lille Métropole in France. In 2024, he played for Gaiteros del Zulia and then Lobos Plateados de la BUAP.

Representing DR Congo

Christian Eyenga often plays for the DR Congo national basketball team. He represents his home country in international basketball games. For example, he played in the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup qualification games. In those games, he scored about 14.7 points per game. He also got 7.0 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game.
