About Christian Manfredini
Christian Manfredini was born Christian José Sisostri in the Ivory Coast. When he was four years old, an Italian family from Battipaglia adopted him. They gave him their last name, Manfredini.
Christian's Football Journey
Starting at Juventus
Christian Manfredini started his football journey in the youth system of Juventus. This is one of Italy's biggest football clubs. In his early career, Juventus sent him on "loan" to smaller clubs. This meant he played for other teams for a while to gain experience.
Playing in Serie B
Manfredini spent four seasons playing for different teams in Italy's lower leagues, Serie C1 and Serie C2. In 1998, he joined Cosenza. There, at 23 years old, he made his debut in Serie B, which is the second-highest league in Italian football.
Time with Genoa
After one year with Cosenza, Manfredini moved to Genoa in 1999. Genoa was also playing in Serie B at the time. He played for Genoa for one season before moving to a club that was quickly becoming famous in Italian football.
Rising with Chievo
In 2000, Manfredini joined ChievoVerona. He was a very important player for Chievo. He helped the team reach Serie A for the very first time. Serie A is the top football league in Italy.
Christian and another player, Eriberto, were known as the "back arrow" because they played so well on the wings. Chievo surprised everyone by even reaching the top of Serie A for a short time. They finished fifth, which earned them a spot in the UEFA Cup, a big European competition.
Joining Lazio
Manfredini's great performances caught the eye of Lazio, a giant club in Italy. He joined Lazio in 2002. At first, it was hard for him to get a regular spot in Lazio's strong team. So, he was sent on loan to other clubs like Osasuna in Spain, and Perugia and Fiorentina in Italy.
In 2004, Lazio faced financial difficulties. They had to sell many of their star players. This meant Manfredini was called back to the team. Even though he wasn't always in the starting lineup, he played many games for Lazio.
He even scored a goal in the UEFA Champions League against the German team SV Werder Bremen. His contract with Lazio ended in June 2011.
Later Club Teams
After leaving Lazio, Christian Manfredini continued his career with other clubs.
- In 2011, he signed with Sambonifacese and played 11 games.
- In the 2012–13 season, he played for Agropoli, a team that had just been promoted to Serie D.
- In the 2013–14 season, he played for Picciola.
Playing for His Country

He was called up again for a friendly match against Senegal in August 2006, but again, he did not play. Finally, in November 2008, the new Ivory Coast manager gave Manfredini another chance. He made his official debut for the Ivorian national team in a friendly game against Israel.
