Christian Träsch (born 1 September 1987) is a German former professional footballer. He played as a right-back (a defender on the right side) or a defensive midfielder (a player who helps protect the defense).

Christian Träsch's Club Career Highlights
Christian Träsch started his professional football journey with VfB Stuttgart. He played his very first professional game on 3 February 2008 against Schalke 04. He scored his first goal for VfB Stuttgart on 5 October 2008. It was an amazing shot from about 25 meters away against Werder Bremen.
In January 2009, Christian extended his contract with VfB Stuttgart. This meant he would stay with the team until the summer of 2012.
Later, on 25 July 2011, Träsch moved to another big German club, VfL Wolfsburg. While at Wolfsburg, he even played a game for their reserve team, VfL Wolfsburg II, on 25 October 2014, where he scored a goal.
A big moment in his career came on 30 May 2015. Christian Träsch played for Wolfsburg when they won the DFB-Pokal (the German Cup) for the first time ever! They beat Borussia Dortmund 3-1 in the final match held in Berlin.
Christian Träsch decided to stop playing professional football in October 2020, when he was 33 years old. He played in over 240 matches in the top two football leagues in Germany.
Christian Träsch's International Career
Christian Träsch also had the honor of playing for his country, Germany. On 19 May 2009, he was chosen to join the senior German national squad for a trip to Asia.
He made his first appearance for Germany on 2 June during this tour. The match was against the United Arab Emirates. Christian came into the game in the 79th minute, replacing another player, Andreas Hinkel. His tenth and final game for the German national team was on 11 November 2011. It was an exciting 3-3 draw against Ukraine in Kyiv.
