Christina Schwab, born Christina Ripp on July 31, 1980, is an amazing American athlete. She used to play wheelchair basketball and race long distances. Now, she is the head coach for the United States women's national wheelchair basketball team.

Christina Schwab's Sports Journey
Christina Schwab began her journey in the Paralympic Games in 2000. She competed in the 2000 Summer Paralympics and finished in 5th place. Four years later, she won a gold medal in Athens, Greece, for wheelchair basketball.
Winning Gold Medals
Christina continued her winning streak. In 2008, she earned her second gold medal in Beijing, China. She also won another gold medal at the International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF) Gold Cup in 2010.
Other Achievements
Christina was very successful in national championships, winning first place from 2002 to 2004. In 2006, she won a silver medal at the IWBF Gold Cup. She also earned a bronze medal in track and field at the IPC Athletics World Championships. Christina even won the Boston Marathon in 2003. In 2008, she took first place at the North American Cup. Her third Paralympic gold medal came in 2016 at the Rio Games.
Coaching the National Team
On December 13, 2021, Christina Schwab was chosen as the head coach for the United States women's national wheelchair basketball team. This means she now guides other talented athletes.
Christina's Life Outside Sports
In December 2005, Christina earned a degree in community health from the University of Illinois. After that, she moved to Colorado. There, she helped start a women's wheelchair basketball team called the Denver Rolling Nuggets. In 2011, she married CJ Schwab. They live in Edgerton, Wisconsin. Christina is also working on her master's degree while coaching the women's wheelchair basketball team at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
