Christina Michelle Wilson (born January 15, 1979) is an American chef and a well-known TV personality. She won season 10 of the popular cooking show Hell's Kitchen, which airs on the FOX Network. After winning, she became the head chef (called a chef de cuisine) at Gordon Ramsay Steak in Paris Las Vegas.
Later, in 2014, Wilson became the Executive Chef at Gordon Ramsay BurGR in Planet Hollywood Las Vegas. By 2015, she was promoted to Corporate Executive Chef for the entire Gordon Ramsay Restaurant Group. She has also returned to Hell's Kitchen many times as a Sous-chef from 2016 to 2023. From 2020 to 2023, she held a top role as VP Culinary at Gordon Ramsay North America.
Early Life and School Days
Christina Wilson grew up in Phillipsburg, New Jersey. She finished Phillipsburg High School in 1997. While in high school, she was a talented athlete, playing field hockey, basketball, and softball. She has three brothers, and her grandmother was a big inspiration for her cooking.
Wilson first went to West Chester University in Pennsylvania on a basketball scholarship. However, she lost her scholarship and worked as a waitress to pay for her classes. She then moved to Temple University, where she earned a degree in English and Language Arts in 2007.
Christina Wilson's Culinary Journey
Christina Wilson did not go to a special cooking school. Her first job in food was at McDonald's during high school summers. She says her first real cooking experience was at West Chester Country Club in West Chester, Pennsylvania. She "begged to be allowed in the kitchen to learn" there.
While studying at Temple University in Philadelphia, she started working in restaurants in the city. Before she won Hell's Kitchen in 2012, she was the head chef at Lolita BYOB in Philadelphia. After her big win, she trained for six weeks to prepare for her job at Gordon Ramsay Steak in Las Vegas.
In 2014, Wilson moved from Gordon Ramsay Steak at the Paris Las Vegas. She became the Executive Chef at Gordon Ramsay BurGR (which later changed its name to Gordon Ramsay Burger) right next door at the Planet Hollywood Las Vegas.
By 2015, Christina Wilson was in charge of all of Gordon Ramsay's restaurants in the U.S. as the Culinary Director. At that time, there were 10 restaurants under her care.
From October 2020 to December 2023, Wilson was the Vice President of Culinary for Gordon Ramsay North America. She appeared on many seasons of Hell's Kitchen after her own win. She was often the Sous-chef for the red team on seasons 15, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 and 22. She also appeared on other TV shows like Gordon Ramsay's 24 Hours to Hell and Back, The F Word, and MasterChef Junior. In 2017, Wilson also hosted a 10-episode YouTube series called Recipes from Hell's Kitchen.
