The Church Building
The Church of St. John the Evangelist was built a long time ago, between 1880 and 1881. An architect named Luck designed this impressive building. It stands proudly where St. John's Road and Carter Street meet.
This church is really big and tall! It can hold more than 600 people inside, making it one of the largest buildings in Sandown. Inside the main part of the church, you'll find special areas like St. Nicholas's Chapel and a Lady Chapel.
