Early Life and Learning
Ciarán McMenamin grew up in Enniskillen, a town in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. He went to St. Michael's College, Enniskillen there. After school, he studied acting at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. He graduated with a special degree in 1998. Before that, he also took drama classes at Ardhowen Youth Theatre and worked with the Ulster Youth Theatre.

Famous TV Roles
One of his early big roles was in 1999. He played the main character, David Copperfield, in a BBC One TV movie called David Copperfield. He also appeared in an episode of Agatha Christie's Marple called "4:50 From Paddington". In this mystery show, he played a character named Cedric Crackenthorpe.
From 2011 to 2013, Ciarán played Matt Anderson in the TV series Primeval. This show was about a team that dealt with creatures from the past and future. He also had a main role as Inspector Finn O'Hare in the TV series Hope Street from 2021 to 2024.
