In 2019, Cinta Laura was chosen as an ambassador for the Indonesian Ministry of Women Empowerment and Child Protection. This means she helps to speak out against violence towards women and children.

Early Life and School

Cinta Laura grew up in many different countries. These included the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Singapore, Germany, and Indonesia. When she was 12 years old, she moved to Indonesia.

She became a national swimmer for Indonesia! She won many medals, including 10 gold, 7 silver, and 7 bronze, in various swimming competitions.

Cinta Laura later went to Columbia University in New York. She studied hard and graduated with excellent grades in May 2014. After finishing university, she moved to Los Angeles. There, she started her acting career in Hollywood. She signed contracts with big companies like Netflix and Grindstone Entertainment Group.

Starting Her Journey in 2007

Cinta Laura began her career in February 2007. Her first TV show was called Cinderella: Apakah Cinta Hanyalah Mimpi?. It was very popular and had 310 episodes. Because of this show, she became well-known. She even won the "2007 Indonesia's Best Actress" award at the SCTV Awards.

Music and Movies (2007–2012)

In 2007, Cinta Laura also starred in her first movie, Oh Baby. She sang songs for the movie's soundtrack too. The movie's songs were very popular in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Brunei.

Soon after, she released her first music album, Cinta Laura (2010). It sold over a million copies! In 2010, she won the Wannabe Artist Award at the Nickelodeon Indonesia Kids' Choice Awards.

She also filmed more TV shows like Upik Abu dan Laura (2008) and Air Mata Cinta (2009). These shows were also very successful. Later, she released more songs from her second album, Hollywood Dreams (2012).

Hollywood and New Music (2013–Present)

In 2013, Cinta Laura moved to Los Angeles to act in Hollywood movies. She appeared in After the Dark (2013). She also worked with Grindstone Entertainment Group on films like The Ninth Passenger (2018).
