Afgansyah Reza (born on May 27, 1989), known simply as Afgan, is a famous singer and actor from Indonesia. He is well-known for his amazing pop and R&B songs.

About Afgan
Early Life and School
Afgan was born in Jakarta, Indonesia, on May 27, 1989. He grew up in a musical family, even though he never had formal singing lessons. He is the second of four children. Afgan studied hard and earned a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Monash University.
How His Music Career Started
Afgan's journey in music began when he and his friends decided to record some songs at a studio. The people at the studio were so impressed by his voice that they offered him a music contract! This was the start of his amazing career.

First Album and Hit Songs
Afgan's first album was called Confession No.1, released in 2008. It was a cool mix of jazz, pop, and R&B music. Some of the popular songs from this album included "Terima Kasih Cinta" and "Sadis." The music video for "Terima Kasih Cinta" was very popular.
Acting and More Albums
In 2009, Afgan tried acting for the first time in a movie called Bukan Cinta Biasa. He also sang the main song for the movie's soundtrack. He acted in another film in 2010, Cinta 2 Hati, and sang for its soundtrack too.
His second album, The One, came out in 2010. In 2011, he performed the theme song for the Southeast Asian Games, a big sports event.
Celebrating a Decade in Music
Afgan continued to release more albums, including Live to Love in 2013, Sides in 2016, and Dekade in 2018. In November 2018, Afgan celebrated 10 years of being a musician with a special "Dekade" concert in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He had another sold-out concert in Jakarta in September 2019.
Recent Music and Style Change
In 2020, Afgan teamed up with singer Raisa to release a song called "Tunjukkan." He also released a new single, "I'm Sorry," in February 2021. His first album for a global audience, Wallflower, came out in April 2021 and had 10 songs.
In 2022, Afgan started exploring more R&B music, moving a bit from his usual pop style. He released songs like "So Wrong But So Right" and "Ku Dengannya Kau Dengan Dia." Most recently, on May 26, 2024, Afgan performed with Bebi Romeo at the Java Jazz Festival 2024.
Awards and Recognition
Afgan has won many awards for his music. He won the Best Solo Male Vocalist Award at the Anugerah Musik Indonesia in 2009 for his song "Terima Kasih Cinta." In June 2022, HipHopDX, a music website, named him one of the "10 Indonesian hip hop and R&B artists to check out right now."
