About Claire Harrigan
Early Life and Education
Claire Harrigan was born in a town called Kilmarnock in Scotland. She loved art from a young age. Claire went to the famous Glasgow School of Art to study painting. She graduated in 1986 with a special degree in Fine Art. While she was there, she even won an award for her still life paintings!
Becoming a Professional Artist
After finishing art school, Claire decided to become a full-time painter. This means she creates art as her main job. To get new ideas for her paintings, she has traveled to many exciting places. Some of these include the West Indies, France, Portugal, and Italy. These trips helped her discover new colors and scenes for her art.
In 1989, Claire became a professional member of the Scottish Artists and Artist Craftsmen (SAAC). She was also listed in important art books like "Who's Who in Art" and "20th Century Painters and Sculptors." In 1992, she was invited to join The Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour (RSW), which is a big honor for artists who work with watercolors.
