Rodolfo A. Franklin (born September 28, 1966 – died October 24, 2024) was a famous DJ Clark Kent. He was a talented music producer and DJ from Panama and America. His group of DJs was called "The Supermen." His cool DJ name, Clark Kent, came from Superman's secret identity.

Music Career Highlights
DJ Clark Kent started his music journey in the late 1980s. He was the DJ for rapper Dana Dane. During this time, he often played music at popular clubs in New York City. Other famous DJs like Funkmaster Flex and Kid Capri also performed there.
In 1989, he helped create a remix for the hit song "Spread My Wings" by the group Troop.
Big Hits and Famous Artists
DJ Clark Kent made his first big street hit with the song "Player's Anthem" for Junior M.A.F.I.A.. This song featured The Notorious B.I.G. and was also the very first song where Lil' Kim appeared.
His biggest hit was "Loverboy" by Mariah Carey. This song reached number 2 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. He produced songs for many other well-known artists, including:

Superman DJ Battles
In the early 1990s, DJ Clark Kent became the host for a big DJ competition. It was called the New Music Seminar. He changed its name to "Clark Kent's Superman Battle for World Supremacy." He hosted this exciting event for many years. One of the most famous battles was between DJ Noize and DJ 8-Ball, where DJ Noize won.
Working with Jay-Z
DJ Clark Kent played a big part in the career of Jay-Z. He introduced Jay-Z to Damon Dash, who later became Jay-Z's manager. Clark and Jay-Z had known each other since they were teenagers.
In 1993, Jay-Z was featured on a song called "Can I Get Open" by Original Flavor. This led to the start of Roc-A-Fella Records in 1994. Clark also produced three songs on Jay-Z's first album, Reasonable Doubt. These songs were:
- "Brooklyn's Finest" (featuring The Notorious B.I.G.)
- "Coming of Age" (featuring Memphis Bleek)
- "Cashmere Thoughts"
Clark even said he introduced The Notorious B.I.G. and Jay-Z at the studio when they worked together. He also introduced his cousin, Foxy Brown, to Jay-Z. Years later, on his 2003 album The Black Album, Jay-Z mentioned how Clark helped him get started in music.
Clark also discovered rapper Shyne in 1998. He heard Shyne rapping in a barbershop by chance. Clark noticed Shyne sounded a bit like The Notorious B.I.G. He then helped Shyne get signed to Bad Boy Records by Sean "Puff Daddy" Combs.
Other Interests
Besides music, DJ Clark Kent loved sneakers! He once said he owned about 3,500 pairs of shoes. In 2010, the company Nike asked him to design special limited edition Nike Air Force 1 shoes. These shoes were part of a "Nike Five Boroughs AF1 Low" collection.
