David Anthony Love Jr. (known to many as Kid Capri) is a famous American DJ and rapper. He was born on February 7, 1967. Kid Capri is well-known for his amazing DJ skills and for producing music for many top artists. He has also appeared on TV shows and in movies.

Early Life and Beginnings
Kid Capri was born in Brooklyn, New York City. He spent most of his childhood in The Bronx. When he was only 8 years old, Kid Capri started trying to scratch records. He would practice on his father's Zenith stereo system. This early start showed his passion for music and DJing.

Kid Capri has had a long and successful career in music. He has worked as a DJ, a music producer, and even appeared on TV.
TV Shows and Performances
Kid Capri was a star on the HBO series, Def Comedy Jam. This show featured many famous comedians. In 2017, he returned for the 25th Anniversary Special of Def Comedy Jam on Netflix. He was the main DJ for seven seasons of the original Def Comedy Jam. Kid Capri also appeared as a judge on Master of the Mix. This was a BET reality TV show that looked for the best DJ in the country. He has also been featured on the We TV show Growing Up Hip Hop: New York since 2019.

Kid Capri has produced music for many popular artists. These include Snoop Dogg, Jay-Z, Madonna, Heavy D, and 50 Cent. He produced a song on Jay-Z's album, Hard Knock Life. He has also toured with big names like Jay-Z, Aaliyah, Salt-N-Pepa, and Timbaland. ..... He also showed off his vocal skills at Jennifer Lopez's Las Vegas show, Jennifer Lopez: All I Have.
Albums and Collaborations
In 1991, Kid Capri released his own album called The Tape with Warner Brothers Records. Later, in 1997, he signed with Columbia Records. He then released another album, Soundtrack to the Streets, in 1998. Kid Capri also started his own record label, called No Kid'n Records.
He has performed as a DJ for Rakim at the Rock the Bells 2007 and 2008 shows. In 2012, Kid Capri was asked to remix "Masterpiece". This was a special song for Madonna's album, MDNA. He was also featured on Kendrick Lamar's song "ELEMENT." where he had vocal parts.
In 2022, Kid Capri released his third studio album, The Love. This was his first album in 25 years. His daughter, R&B singer Vina Love, is featured on the album. In 2023, Kid Capri worked with The Hoodies to produce their album Hidden Gems.
Awards and Recognition
In 2018, Kid Capri received the Red Award at the Global Spin Awards. This award honored DJ Red Alert. On May 15, 2021, Kid Capri was added to the Bronx Walk of Fame. This is a special honor for people who have made a big impact from The Bronx.
Kid Capri has also been part of important tributes to hip-hop. At the 2003 BET Awards, he hosted a mix-off to honor Jam Master Jay. Twenty years later, at the 2023 BET Awards, Kid Capri hosted and helped plan the Hip-Hop's 50th Anniversary segment. Until late 2023, Kid Capri hosted "The Block Party" on SiriusXM FLY every weekend.
