Clarksville is a small community in Sussex County, Delaware, in the United States. It's called an "unincorporated community" because it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town. Instead, it's managed by the county. Clarksville is located just west of Millville and is mostly found along Delaware Route 26. Many people traveling to the beautiful Delaware Beaches from places like Baltimore and Washington, D.C. drive through Clarksville.
This community is also home to some important historical sites. The Blackwater Presbyterian Church and a place called Spring Banke are both listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This means they are recognized as special places that are important to the history of the country.
History of Clarksville
Clarksville has always been a small community. In 1900, only 16 people lived there. By 1925, the population grew to 63, and by 1960, about 200 people called Clarksville home.
Clarksville used to have its own post office with a special ZIP code, 19937. However, that post office closed down. Today, people in Clarksville get their mail through the Ocean View post office, which uses the ZIP code 19970.
