Claude Moisy (born June 26, 1927 – died September 21, 2020) was a famous journalist and writer from France. He was the leader, or President, of a big news agency called Agence France-Presse (AFP) from 1990 to 1993.

Claude Moisy's Life and Career
Claude Moisy started his career as a journalist at a newspaper called Ouest-France. He spent a lot of his time working for the Agence France-Presse (AFP) in the United States.
Leading the Agence France-Presse
From 1990 to 1993, Moisy was the President of the AFP. This was a time when France was facing some money problems. During his time as President, he helped the news agency grow around the world. He also helped them use new technologies.
Before he retired, he thought about what a perfect AFP President would be like. He believed this person should not be too easy to guess politically. They should also be able to speak English very well.
Reporting Around the World
Throughout his career at AFP, Claude Moisy reported from many different places. He covered important events in cities like Rangoon (now Yangon), Delhi, and London. His last big reporting job was in Washington, D.C.. There, he covered the famous Watergate scandal. This was a big political event in the United States.
After his time as President, another person named Lionel Fleury took over. Claude Moisy was one of the last journalists to lead the AFP.
Later Work and Legacy
Later, Moisy joined an organization called Reporters Without Borders. This group works to protect journalists around the world. In 2009, he wrote an article in a newspaper called Le Monde. In this article, he talked about how trustworthy the AFP news agency was.
Claude Moisy passed away on September 21, 2020. He was 93 years old.
