Claude Mallinson Rigby (born March 29, 1882 – died January 29, 1960) was an Irish doctor and a first-class cricketer. He was also a specialist in radiology, which uses X-rays and other imaging to see inside the body.

Early Life and Education
Claude Rigby was born in Dublin, Ireland, in March 1882. He went to school in England at Dulwich College. After finishing school, he decided to study medicine. He attended the London Hospital Medical College. He completed his medical training in 1907.
Military Service and Medical Career
In 1908, Claude Rigby joined the British Army. He became a Lieutenant in the Royal Army Medical Corps. This group provides medical care for soldiers.
Serving in British India
Rigby was sent to British India. There, he worked as a top surgeon for important leaders.
- From 1915 to 1918, he was the chief surgeon for Lord Willingdon, who was the Governor of Bombay.
- From 1921 to 1923, he served as the chief surgeon for Lord Rawlinson. Lord Rawlinson was the Commander-in-Chief of the army in India at that time.
Return to England and Radiology
After his time in British India, Rigby came back to England. He began to focus on radiology. He worked at the Cambridge Military Hospital in Aldershot. In 1928, he retired from the military as a Major.
Even after leaving the army, Rigby continued his work as a radiologist. He worked in hospitals in the Midlands area of England. These included the Royal Hospital, Guest Hospital, Corbett Hospital, and the Staffordshire General Infirmary. During World War II, he was called back to serve in the Royal Army Medical Corps again.
Cricket Career
While he was in British India, Claude Rigby also played first-class cricket. He played two matches for Lord Willingdon's team. Both games were against the Maharaja of Cooch-Behar's XI.
- The first match was in March 1918 in Bombay.
- The second match was in August 1918 in Poona.
Hobbies and Later Life
Outside of his medical work and cricket, Rigby enjoyed several sports. He played tennis, golf, and rugby union. He later retired to Middleton-on-Sea in Sussex, England. He passed away there in January 1960. He was survived by his wife, Mary, and their daughter.
