Clay Hill (born Clay Squire on May 17, 1976, in Hamilton, Ontario) is a professional box lacrosse player. He played as a defender. He was a member of the National Lacrosse League's Buffalo Bandits for seven seasons. With them, he won an NLL Championship in 2008. He also played for the Six Nations Chiefs from 1997 to 2012. This team competes for the Mann Cup, a top Canadian championship. Later in his career, he played in semi-professional leagues. These included the Canadian Lacrosse League in winter and the OLA Senior B Lacrosse League in summer.

Clay Hill's Lacrosse Journey

Clay Hill joined the Six Nations Chiefs in 2002. This team plays in Major Series Lacrosse. The Buffalo Bandits picked him in the 1997 draft. This was for the Major Indoor Lacrosse League. However, he did not join them until 2004. He played his first NLL game in 2005.

In 2008, Clay had a great season. He played in all 16 regular season games. He also played in all 3 playoff games. That year, he and the Buffalo Bandits won the NLL Championship. This was a big achievement for the team.

Clay left the National Lacrosse League in 2011. He played his last season with the Six Nations Chiefs in 2012. They competed for the Mann Cup, Canada's Senior A championship. Clay and the Chiefs reached the league finals. They lost to the Peterborough Lakers. Clay played 99 games for the Buffalo Bandits. He scored 61 points and played in 10 playoff games.

In 2012, Clay joined the Ohsweken Demons. This team is part of the Canadian Lacrosse League. He and the Demons won the first-ever CLax Championship. Because of his excellent play, the league named him to their second all-star team.

Clay Hill's Family Life

Clay Hill grew up in the Six Nations. This is a First Nations Reserve. It is home to one of the Iroquois Nations. The main reserve is located near Brantford, Caledonia, and Hagersville. The land covers about 18,000 hectares. In the summer, Clay travels to the Toronto area. He looks for job opportunities there. He often works in steel construction. This helps him support his family during the lacrosse offseason.
