Clever Creek is a small waterway, also called a stream, located in the middle-northern part of Douglas County, in southern Missouri. This area is known as the Ozarks, a beautiful region with hills and forests.
Clever Creek is a tributary to Fox Creek. A tributary is a smaller stream or river that flows into a larger one. So, Clever Creek flows into Fox Creek.
Discover Clever Creek
Clever Creek starts its journey southeast of a place called Tick Ridge. From there, it flows generally towards the southwest and then turns south.
The Creek's Path
As it travels, Clever Creek goes under Missouri Route 76 near a small community called Coldspring. This road helps people cross over the creek.
After passing Coldspring, the stream continues to flow south, then turns southeast. Its journey ends when it joins Fox Creek, just a little northeast of Champion.
How Clever Creek Got Its Name
The name Clever Creek comes from the city of Clever. This city is located in Christian County, which is another county in Missouri.
