Exploring Cliff: A Small Scottish Village
Cliff is a quiet place, perfect for those who love nature and the sea. It's connected to bigger roads by a smaller path, making it feel a bit hidden away.
Where is Cliff Located?
This small settlement is on the western side of the Isle of Lewis. The Isle of Lewis is the largest island in the Outer Hebrides. These islands are famous for their beautiful landscapes and rich Scottish Gaelic culture.
Fun at the Beach
Just north of Cliff, you'll find a beautiful beach called Traigh na Clibhe. While the beach looks inviting, it's important to know that swimming there can be dangerous. The currents can be very strong.
Surfing at Cliff Beach
Even though swimming isn't safe, the beach at Cliff is a fantastic spot for experienced surfers and bodyboarders. When the tide is low to mid, the waves create an excellent "barrelling" break. This means the waves form a hollow tube, which is thrilling for those who know how to ride them. These waves can get quite big, sometimes reaching up to 12 feet (about 3.6 meters) high!
