Clone Wars facts for kids
The Clone Wars was a big, galaxy-wide war in the Star Wars stories. It was first talked about in the movie Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope (1977). Later, many other movies, books, and TV shows showed us what really happened during this war.
Within the Star Wars universe, the Clone Wars were a series of huge battles. They lasted for three years. The main groups fighting were the good guys, the Jedi Knights and their Clone Trooper army, against the bad guys, the Sith Lords and their Battle Droid armies.
When Did the Clone Wars Happen?
The war started during the events of Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones (2002). It finally ended in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (2005).
From 2008 to 2020, a popular movie and TV show called Star Wars: The Clone Wars were released. These stories filled in all the details about what happened between the two movies.
Other Stories from the Clone Wars
Other Star Wars stories also explored this time. For example, there was an animated TV series called Star Wars: Clone Wars from 2003 to 2005. There were also comic books that focused on characters like Darth Maul. During this period, some very popular new Star Wars characters were created. These include brave heroes like Ahsoka Tano and tricky villains like Asajj Ventress.
