Clorinda is a city in the Formosa Province of Argentina. It is an important city in the Pilcomayo Department. In 2010, about 52,837 people lived there.
Clorinda is located about 115 kilometers (71 miles) northeast of Formosa, the capital of the province. It is very close to the border with Paraguay, only 4 kilometers away. The city sits on the Pilcomayo River, which flows into the Paraguay River nearby.
Right across the river from Clorinda is Asunción, the capital city of Paraguay! These two cities are connected by the San Ignacio de Loyola International Bridge. Clorinda is also a key meeting point for two important roads: National Route 11 and National Route 86.
Getting Around Clorinda
Clorinda has its own airport, called Clorinda Airport. However, it does not have regular flights for passengers right now. The closest airport with commercial flights is Silvio Pettirossi International Airport in Asunción, Paraguay. Many airlines fly there.
The city also has a busy bus station, the Clorinda Bus Terminal Station. From here, you can take buses to many other places in northern Argentina. These routes often use National Route 12.
