Cobbitty is a quiet, mostly rural town in the Macarthur Region of New South Wales, Australia. It's located southwest of Sydney, not far from the town of Camden. About 2,000 people live here, and much of the land is used for farming.

History of Cobbitty
The land where Cobbitty now stands was originally home to the Muringong people. They were part of the larger Darug people group. European settlement in the area began in the early 1800s. This happened after John Macarthur set up his large Camden Park Estate nearby.
Cobbitty also had its own Post Office. It opened a long time ago, on May 1, 1869, and stayed open until 1993.
