Coca-Cola Park is a cool baseball stadium in Allentown, Pennsylvania. It's located in the Lehigh Valley area. This park is the home field for the Lehigh Valley IronPigs. They are a Triple-A level Minor League Baseball team. The IronPigs are connected to the Philadelphia Phillies.

The stadium can hold up to 10,178 fans. This includes special areas like the Capital BlueCross Lawn. It cost about $50.25 million to build. The stadium is named Coca-Cola Park because Coca-Cola helped pay for it. This naming deal happened on March 7, 2007.

What's Inside Coca-Cola Park?

Coca-Cola Park has many fun features for fans. It's designed to make watching a game exciting.

Team Store and Social Spots

The stadium has the Majestic Clubhouse. This is where you can find all the team's clothes and gear. The Bud Light Trough is a special area behind the right field wall. Here, fans can stand, hang out, and watch the game. Many food stands and shops use a fun "pig" theme.

Food and Fun Areas

The PPL Picnic Patio is next to left field. It offers buffet-style food. Groups can book this area for their outings. The stadium's club level has an indoor walkway. This leads to club seats, private suites, and two PenTeleData Party Porches.

Special Seating and Kids' Zone

The VIP Dugout Suites are right behind home plate. They give you a unique view of the game. The LVHN Children's Hospital KidsZone is a free playground. Kids can also play games like speed pitch and go on slides. In 2012, the Capital Blue Tiki Terrace was added in left field. It has group seating, tables, and a bar for all fans.

Scoreboard and Seating Options

The stadium can hold 10,178 people. This includes 8,278 seats and space for 1,900 fans on a grassy hill. There is one main scoreboard. It has a large high-definition video screen. There is also a long LED ribbon board. A classic Coca-Cola bottle on the scoreboard launches fireworks when a run is scored! Coca-Cola Park offers many types of seating. You can sit on grass, picnic benches, or regular fold-down seats. There are also standing room areas.

The stadium cost $50.25 million to build. This was only a little more than planned. It makes Coca-Cola Park one of the more expensive minor league fields in the U.S.

Work on the new ballpark began on September 6, 2006. It was finished in February 2008. Coca-Cola Park was built on land that used to belong to LSI Corporation.

Field Dimensions

The field size and wall heights are very similar to Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia.

  • Left field is 323 feet to the foul pole.
  • Center field is 400 feet.
  • Right field is 325 feet to the foul pole.

Other Local Stadiums

Coca-Cola Park is Allentown's newest stadium. But it's not the biggest. That title belongs to J. Birney Crum Stadium. It can hold over 15,000 people. It's the second-largest outdoor high school stadium in Pennsylvania.

Unique Entrance Layout

The main entrance at Coca-Cola Park is a bit different. It's on the right field side. Most ballparks have their main entrance behind home plate. However, fans with club seating tickets have a special entrance behind home plate.

Famous Visitors and Events

On July 2, 2008, musician John Mayer visited a game. He even caught a foul ball! He signed the ball, and it's now in the team store.

The park hosted its first big non-sporting event on July 14, 2009. It was a concert with Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, and John Mellencamp. Over 10,000 people came to the show. Because it was so popular, the park might host more concerts in the future.

In 2010, the stadium hosted the Triple-A All-Star Game. The International League All-Stars won that game. In 2020, the park was used as a training site for the Phillies. This happened when the COVID-19 pandemic affected baseball seasons.
