History of Cody Village
Cody was officially started in 1886. This happened when the railroad tracks were built all the way to this spot. The village was named after Thomas Cody, who was a foreman working on the railroad.

Local Businesses and Activities
Even though Cody is a small village, it has some interesting businesses. Students from Cody-Kilgore Public School have helped run the Circle C grocery store. Their efforts were even shown on national TV programs like Harvest Public Media and The News Hour on PBS.
The town also has a city park. This park offers camping facilities and showers for travelers. It is especially helpful for cyclists riding the Cowboy Trail through town.
