Cody Jamieson (born July 17, 1987) is a famous professional lacrosse player from the Iroquois people. He plays the attack position, which means his main job is to score goals. He plays for the Halifax Thunderbirds in the National Lacrosse League (NLL) and the Six Nations Chiefs in Major Series Lacrosse. He also played for Syracuse University, where he earned a degree in Communications.

Professional Career in the NLL
In 2010, Jamieson was the first player chosen in the NLL draft by the Rochester Knighthawks. This meant he was seen as the best new player available that year. In his first season, he scored 53 points and was the runner-up for the Rookie of the Year award.
By his second season, Jamieson became the main offensive player for the Knighthawks. He led the team with 36 goals and 85 points. His team won the Champion's Cup, which is the NLL championship. Jamieson was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the championship game for scoring four goals and four assists.
The next year, Jamieson was the top scorer in the entire league with 108 points. He helped the Knighthawks win the championship for the third time in a row. Because of his amazing performance, he was named the league's MVP in 2014.

Starting as a Junior Player
Jamieson played junior lacrosse for the Six Nations Arrows Express. He helped his team win the league championship four years in a row. In 2007, he led a team of star players to win the Minto Cup, Canada's national junior championship. It was the first time Six Nations had won it in 15 years. Jamieson was named the MVP of the championship series.
The next year, Jamieson had his best season ever as a junior player. He led the league in scoring with 59 goals and 101 points. He won two major awards: the "Green Gael Trophy" for being the league's MVP and the "Jim Veltman Award" for being the Most Outstanding Player.
He finished his junior career with an incredible 199 goals and 395 points in the regular season.
Moving Up to Senior Lacrosse
When he moved up to senior lacrosse, Jamieson joined the Six Nations Chiefs. In his very first season, he scored 48 goals and 96 points. He made history in Major Series Lacrosse by being the first player to lead the league in scoring, win Rookie of the Year, and win the MVP award all in the same year.
College Lacrosse and Education
Success at Onondaga Community College
Jamieson started his college career at Onondaga Community College to improve his grades so he could attend Syracuse University. In his first year, he helped his team, the Lazers, have a perfect 18-0 season and win a national championship. He was the second-highest scorer in the league.
In 2007, he led the entire country in goals, assists, and points. His team won another national championship without losing a single game. In the final game, Jamieson scored nine goals and was named the game's MVP for the second year in a row. He was also named the Offensive Player of the Year.
For his amazing talent, Jamieson received the Tom Longboat Award, which is given to Canada's best Indigenous athletes.
Championships at Syracuse University
Jamieson later transferred to Syracuse University. In 2009, he joined the team for the national championship tournament. In the final game, he scored the winning goal in overtime to give Syracuse the national title. He was named to the All-Tournament team for his great performance.
Jamieson graduated with a degree in Communications. He was the first person in his family to get a college degree. He wants to use his education to help other Indigenous youth get into college through lacrosse programs.
Helping His Community
Lacrosse is a very important part of Mohawk culture and is central to many traditions. Jamieson used the game's importance to help young people in his community. He created workshops based on lacrosse to give youth a positive way to express their emotions and connect with their culture in a powerful way.
