Cody Jamieson (born July 17, 1987) is a professional lacrosse player from Canada. He is known for his skill as an "attackman," a player who focuses on scoring goals. Cody plays for the Halifax Thunderbirds in the National Lacrosse League (NLL). He also plays for the Six Nations Chiefs in Major Series Lacrosse (MSL). Before becoming a pro, he played for Syracuse University. There, he earned a degree in Communications.

National Lacrosse League (NLL) Career

Cody Jamieson was picked first in the 2010 NLL draft. The Rochester Knighthawks chose him. In his first year, he scored 53 points. He was almost named Rookie of the Year.

In his second season, Cody became a key player for the Knighthawks. He led the team with 36 goals and 85 points. That year, the Knighthawks won their third Champion's Cup. Cody scored four goals and had four assists in the final game. He was named the Championship Game MVP.

A year later, Cody won the NLL scoring title. He had 108 points and 72 assists. He helped the Knighthawks win their third straight championship. This made them one of the top teams in the NLL. In 2014, his hard work was recognized. He was named the league's Most Valuable Player (MVP).

Junior Lacrosse Success

Before playing professionally, Cody Jamieson played junior box lacrosse. He was with the Six Nations Arrows Express. He helped them win four league championships in a row.

In 2007, Cody led an all-star team to victory. They won the Minto Cup, a national championship. This was the first Minto Cup for Six Nations in 15 years. Cody was also given the "Jim McConaghy Memorial Cup" as the Series MVP.

The next year was his best junior season. Cody led the league in scoring. He had 59 goals and 101 points. He won the "Green Gael Trophy" as the league MVP. He also received the "Jim Veltman Award" as the Most Outstanding Player.

Cody finished his junior career with amazing stats. He scored 199 goals and 395 points in regular seasons. In the playoffs, he added 141 goals and 251 points. He is one of the top goal scorers in Canadian junior lacrosse history.

Senior Lacrosse Achievements

Cody started his senior lacrosse career with the Six Nations Chiefs. In his first season, he scored 48 goals and 96 points. He made history in Major Series Lacrosse. He was the first player to lead the league in scoring as a rookie. He also won both Rookie of the Year and MVP awards in his first year.

College Lacrosse Career

Onondaga Community College

Cody Jamieson started his college journey at Onondaga Community College. He went there to improve his grades. This would allow him to attend Syracuse University later.

In his first year, Cody helped the Lazers team. They had an amazing 18–0 undefeated season. They also won a national championship. Cody was second in the league for scoring. He had 57 goals and 121 points.

In 2007, Cody led the nation in scoring. He had 65 goals, 51 assists, and 116 points. His team had a second undefeated season. They won another national championship. In the 2007 championship game, Cody scored 9 goals. He was named the game's MVP for the second year in a row. He was also named an NJCAA first-team All-American. He won the NJCAA Offensive Player of the Year award.

In his last year at Onondaga, he received the Tom Longboat Award. This award honors Canada's top Indigenous athletes. Cody was the second lacrosse player from Six Nations to get this award. In 2014, he was honored by the college. His picture was added to their Alumni Faces display. This display celebrates alumni who have achieved great things.

Syracuse University

Cody moved to Syracuse University in 2008. He couldn't play right away due to academic reasons. He joined the team for the last few games of the 2009 season. He played with the Orange in the 2009 NCAA Division I Men's Lacrosse Championship.

Syracuse made it to the championship game. In overtime, Cody scored the winning goal. This gave Syracuse their second national championship in a row. He was named to the NCAA championship All-Tournament team. He scored 8 goals in 6 games during the tournament.

Cody earned a degree in Communications from Syracuse. He was the first in his family to get a college degree. He plans to use his education to help more Indigenous youth. He wants to help them attend college through lacrosse programs.
