Colinton is a small community called a hamlet in northern Alberta, Canada. It is part of Athabasca County. You can find it about 4 kilometers (2.5 miles) east of Highway 2. It is on Highway 663. Colinton is about 121 kilometers (75 miles) north of a bigger city called Edmonton.
Colinton is made up of a few different areas. These areas are officially recognized by Statistics Canada. Statistics Canada is like Canada's main data collection agency. The main parts are called "Colinton" and "McNabb's". There is also some extra land nearby.
Colinton got its name from a man named James Maurice Milne. He owned the land where the railway station was built. He named it after his hometown, Colinton, in Scotland. Before that, this area was known by a different name: Kinnoull.
