History of College City
The name "College City" might make you think there's a college there, but there isn't one today! The town got its name because a post office was set up here in 1873.
Later, in 1875, a school called Pierce Christian College moved to the area. Andrew Pierce had given land to the college for this purpose. However, the college left in 1896. After that, the local high school district took over the college's buildings. So, even though it's called College City, there hasn't been a college there for a long time.
