Colorado is a small place in Texas that was named after the state of Colorado. In the 1940s, county maps showed it had a church and a few scattered homes. By the 1980s, it mainly had a church and a cemetery, but no homes. In 2000, there were no official numbers for how many people lived there.

Colorado is found in the southeastern part of Bastrop County. It is about 2 miles (3.2 kilometers) southeast of a town called Smithville.

In 1905, Colorado had its own school. It had one teacher and taught about 50 students. In 1921, this school is believed to have joined the Smithville Independent School District. Even today, students from the Colorado community attend schools within the Smithville Independent School District.
