Concepción is a small town and municipality in Colombia. It is located in the Santander Department, which is a part of Colombia. This town is special because it is known for its wool production. It belongs to the García Rovira Province.

A Look Back in Time
Concepción was founded a long time ago, in 1722. Two people, Pedro Manuel Angarita and José Manuel Cáceres Enciso, started the town. For a while, it was even the capital of the García Rovira Province.

Concepción is located in a flat, open area. The weather there is usually cool, around 18 °C (64 °F). The municipality covers a large area of 686 square kilometers.
It shares its borders with several other places:
- To the north, it borders Cerrito.
- To the south, it borders Carcasí, Enciso, and Málaga.
- To the east, it borders the Boyacá Department.
- To the west, it borders Saint Andrés.
Two important rivers, the Servitá and Sartanejo rivers, flow through the municipality.

About 7,133 people live in Concepción. Most of these people, about 4,625, live in the countryside. The remaining 2,508 people live in the town area. Concepción is also home to some of the original native people of Colombia, called the Uwas.

Concepción is known as the wool production capital of Colombia. There are many small factories that make products from wool. The town often holds fairs where they show off Sheep, farm animals, and wool products. You can also find many handmade items there.

Every year on December 8, Concepción celebrates its patron saint, the Virgin of Inmaculada Concepción. Many people who have moved away from the town come back for this special day. It is a time for everyone to enjoy the warm and friendly spirit of the town.
