Concepcion (pronounced kən-sep-see-OHN) is a very small community in Duval County, Texas, United States. It's known as a "census-designated place" (CDP). This means it's an area that the government defines for gathering information during a census. In 2020, only 42 people lived there.
Concepcion is also known by its Spanish nickname, "La Chona." This means "the village." It's a special place because it's home to the oldest Catholic church in South Texas. This small chapel was built way back in 1866. It was later updated in 1947.
