Concord is a small, unincorporated community in Cherokee County, Texas. This means it is a place where people live, but it does not have its own city government. It is located in the eastern part of the U.S. state of Texas. In the year 2000, about 50 people lived there. Concord is part of the larger Tyler-Jacksonville area.
History of Concord
The area that is now Concord may have been settled by people from Concord, Massachusetts. Another family from Tennessee also moved here around 1850.
In the 1930s, Concord was a very small place. It had only 20 residents and one business. Mail for the community was sent from nearby towns like Jacksonville and Troup.
By the next decade, the community had grown a bit. The population increased to 50 people. There were three churches and another business. In 1987, Concord had two churches and businesses, serving 97 families. The population remained at 50 residents in 2000.
Where is Concord?
Concord is found in the far northeastern part of Cherokee County. It is about 6 miles (10 kilometers) north of a town called New Summerfield.

A school named Concord School opened in 1884. In 1948, this school joined the Carlisle Independent School District.
