The Peter-Burghard Statue Company built this monument. They were from Louisville, Kentucky. You can find the names of fourteen Confederate soldiers carved into the monument. There is also a famous poem called Bivouac of the Dead written on it. The monument also mentions that 470 unknown Confederate soldiers are buried nearby.
