The Conus cuneolus is a type of sea snail. It is a marine gastropod, which is a kind of mollusk. This snail belongs to the family Conidae, also known as the cone snails.

Like all cone snails, Conus cuneolus is a predatory animal. This means it hunts and eats other creatures. These snails are also venomous, meaning they can sting. Their sting can be harmful to humans. Because of this, you should never touch a live Conus cuneolus snail.

What Does the Conus Cuneolus Snail Look Like?

The shell of the Conus cuneolus snail is usually between 17 mm and 33 mm long. That's about the size of a small button to a large marble. The shell is wide at the top, near its "shoulder." It has a somewhat rounded, inflated shape.

The shell's color is often a dark brown, like chestnut or chocolate. It has small white spots or patches. These white spots often form a faint band around the "shoulder" of the shell. Another band of spots can be seen below the middle of the shell. The white spots are also scattered across the rest of the shell's surface. This includes the rounded spire, which is the pointy top part of the shell.

Where Does the Conus Cuneolus Snail Live?

This snail lives in the Atlantic Ocean. You can find it near the Cape Verdes islands. Specifically, it lives only in the southwestern part of the island of Sal. This means it is a very special snail found in only one small area of the world.
