The Convent of the Sacred Heart was a school for girls in Vancouver, British Columbia. It welcomed students from 1913 until 1979. Girls could attend classes during the day or live there as boarders. This network was started by the Society of the Sacred Heart way back in 1800.
New Owners: St. George's School
In 1979, St. George's School bought the building. St. George's is a school for boys. They wanted the building to be the home for their Junior School. The building is now recognized as a Vancouver City Heritage Building. This means it's an important part of the city's history. St. George's School has done a great job. They have fixed up, taken care of, and even added to the school. They made sure to keep its original Gothic Revival style. The person who designed this amazing building was an architect named Charles G. Badgley.
