Copycats was a super fun game show for kids that aired on CBBC. It was hosted by the awesome duo Sam & Mark (Sam Nixon and Mark Rhodes). The show featured two teams of friends and family, each with six players. They battled it out in a bunch of exciting games. Each episode had different rounds, including some based on the classic game chinese whispers and cool physical challenges.

In 2016, Sam & Mark announced on Twitter that Copycats was coming back! The new series had a fresh look. It featured new opening titles, a new logo, exciting new games, and a brand new set.

Games on Copycats

The games on Copycats were split into two main types. There were rounds where teams had to copy things. These were mixed with fun physical challenges.

Copying Games

These games were a big part of Copycats. Each team played in turn. Players stood in separate booths with sliding doors. They had only 10 seconds to copy what was on a card.

Here's how these rounds worked:

  • The first player saw something (like a word, action, or tune).
  • They had to show it to the next player without speaking.
  • This continued down the line to the sixth player.
  • The last player guessed what was originally shown.
  • If they got it right, the team scored 50 points!
  • If not, other players could guess for fewer points.

The team that won these copying games got to choose. They could either play the next physical challenge themselves or pass it to the other team. Sometimes, if it was a tie, they played rock-paper-scissors to decide!

Physical Challenges

These challenges were all about action and teamwork! Here are some of the exciting games teams played:

Game What You Do
Donut Dash Players pulled themselves along a course in a giant doughnut. They had to grab a doughnut and put it on a spiked helmet. If the whole team got doughnuts in time, they scored 50 points.
Basket Heads Three players threw balls into baskets on their teammates' heads. Then, they moved on stilts to another basket. If they got 15 balls in, they earned 50 points.
Loo Lid Lob Teams drove around in motorized toilets and baths! They picked up toilet rolls and threw them through a moving toilet lid. Getting 6 rolls through in time scored 50 points.
Big Foot Bangers This was a race for both teams! Three players from each team walked on giant foot-shaped stilts. They raced to pop all their balloons first to win 50 points.
Park Your Pooch The team used remote controls to move numbered dog toys into their matching kennels. They had to avoid obstacles like balls and bones. Success meant 50 points!
Vibration Station Players loaded plates with fruit and eggs. Then, they stood on a vibrating platform. They had to keep as much food on their plates as possible to score 50 points.
Blow Ball Each player had a blower. They worked in pairs to blow a ball through a course and into a goal. If all three pairs finished in time, they got 50 points.
Trolley Ball One player was blindfolded and pushed a teammate in a trolley. The player in the trolley guided them to a shooting line. They had to throw 5 balls into a basket for 50 points.
Eggscalator Players ran against a fast conveyor belt. They had to catch eggs from a giant chicken and put them in a basket. Getting 15 eggs in time scored 50 points.
Balloon Bum Burst Teams had to burst red balloons by sitting on them with oversized nappies. They had to avoid blue decoy balloons. If they succeeded, they got 50 points.
Star Strike Players ran against a conveyor belt with a big ball. They threw the ball at 8 poles with celebrity pictures. Knocking them all down in time earned 50 points.
Barmy Boot Shoot The team drove remote-controlled boots. They had to kick a big ball into a goal. Getting 3 balls in within the time limit scored 50 points.
Buzzheads Players wore electric rings on their helmets. They had to move through a course without touching an electric wire. Finishing in time earned 50 points.
Wheelie Pops One player sat in a wheelbarrow while a blindfolded teammate pushed them. The player in the wheelbarrow guided them to pop balloons. Popping all balloons in time scored 50 points.
Flipper Flappers Players ran against a conveyor belt wearing flippers. They had to carry inflated fish and put them in a "pond." Getting all fish in scored 50 points.
Hamster Ball Havoc This was the final game and a race! Teams ran around a course in giant hamster balls. Knocking over pillars lost points. The first team to finish won 100 points!
