Cotesfield: A Small Village in Nebraska
A Look Back: Cotesfield's History
People first settled in the area around Cotesfield in the 1870s. However, the actual village wasn't built until 1902.
The village got its name from Miss Coates. She was a travel friend of the daughter of Christopher C. Augur. He was an important official in the Department of the Platte.
Cotesfield had its own post office starting in 1871. This post office helped people send and receive mail for many years. It closed down in 1996.
