Dwight Conroy Farrell, born on August 25, 1973, is better known by his stage name, Count Bass D. He is an American rapper, record producer (someone who helps make music), and multi-instrumentalist (someone who plays many instruments). He currently lives in Millheim, Pennsylvania. His music style is unique. He often layers short sounds from a special music machine called an MPC with live instruments. He also adds fun movie clips and interesting lyrics to his songs.

Early Life and Musical Beginnings

Dwight Farrell was born on August 25, 1973. He spent his childhood in The Bronx, New York, and Canton, Ohio. When he was just four years old, his father, who was a minister, encouraged him to play music at his church. This led Dwight to learn how to play the piano, organ, drums, and bass guitar.

As he got older, he became very interested in hip-hop music. He practiced rhyming and rapping with his friends, getting better all the time. Later, when he was a teenager, he went to Middle Tennessee State University. There, he used the music school's equipment to create his first demo tape. He even broadcast his first hip-hop video while he was still at college!

Music Career and Albums

Dwight Farrell's demo tape helped him get a record deal with Chaos Recordings. He released his first studio album, Pre-Life Crisis, on September 26, 1995. However, the record label found it hard to sell the album, so they eventually stopped working with him.

In 1997, Dwight released his first short album, called an EP, titled Art for Sale. This was with an independent label called Spongebath Records. Years later, in 2005, this album was also released in Japan.

By 2002, Dwight wanted to create an album that was more clearly hip-hop. He bought some new music equipment, including an Akai S-3000 sampler and an MPC-2000 drum machine. He quickly learned how to use these tools to make new sounds. With this new setup, he released his second studio album, Dwight Spitz. This album became very popular and is considered one of his best works. It even featured other well-known independent rappers like MF Doom and Edan. In 2004, Dwight also produced a song called "Potholderz" for MF Doom's album MM..Food, and he appeared on that track too.

He continued to release new music. In 2005, he put out another EP called Begborrowsteel. His third studio album, Act Your Waist Size, came out in 2006. In 2008, when he was 35 years old, he released L7 (Mid-Life Crisis), which was like a follow-up to his very first album.

In 2010, Dwight worked with his old friend, DJ Pocket, on two albums: In the Loop and Activity. The next year, in 2011, he teamed up with Insight the Truncator for a record called The Risktakers. On his birthday, August 25, 2011, he released his fifth studio album, #FULLCOUNT, on his own website. He has continued to release many more albums and projects over the years, showing his dedication to music.
