Crab Orchard is a small community in Williamson County, Illinois, in the United States. It's called a "census-designated place" because it's a specific area that the government counts for population. This means it's not officially a city or town with its own local government.
The community is located east of Marion, Illinois. It sits along an old road that was once part of Illinois Route 13. The name "Crab Orchard" comes from the nearby Crab Orchard Creek. This creek eventually flows into Crab Orchard Lake.
