Creighton is a small, rural community located in Volusia County, Florida, in the United States. When we say it's an "unincorporated community", it means it's a place where people live together, but it doesn't have its own official city government or mayor.
Creighton is built on what used to be a railroad station. It's close to the Farmton State Wildlife Management Area, which is a large natural area. Today, it's a quiet, country-like place near Interstate 95, a major highway. You can reach Creighton by taking Volco Road or Cow Creek Road, which connect to CR 4147 or SR 442.
The Story of Creighton
The community of Creighton got its name from a person named E. R. Creighton. Back in 1911, Mr. Creighton owned a mill in this area. A mill is a place where raw materials, like wood or grain, are processed into useful products. That's how this small community got its unique name!
