Cristian Brocchi (born January 30, 1976) is an Italian football manager and former player. He is currently the head coach of Kings League team FC Zeta.
As a player, Brocchi was a defensive midfielder. He was known for being strong and good at tackling. He started his career at his hometown club, AC Milan. He later played for other big teams like Inter Milan and Lazio.
Brocchi had a very successful time at AC Milan. He won the Serie A league title and two UEFA Champions League titles. He also won the Coppa Italia twice with Lazio. He played one game for the Italian national team in 2006.
After he stopped playing, Brocchi became a football manager. He coached the youth team before becoming the main coach for a short time. He also managed teams like Brescia and Monza. At Monza, he helped them get promoted to Serie B for the first time in 19 years.

Playing Career Highlights
Starting Out in Football
Cristian Brocchi began his football journey in the youth system of AC Milan. To gain experience, he was loaned to smaller clubs like Pro Sesto and Lumezzane. He then moved to Serie B team Hellas Verona in 1998. He helped Verona get promoted to Serie A, Italy's top football league.
Time at Inter Milan
In 2000, Inter Milan signed Brocchi. However, his time there was difficult. The coach, Marcello Lippi, was sacked early in the season. Brocchi also faced injuries. He later said his time at Inter was "the worst experience" because he didn't feel supported when he was injured.
Returning to AC Milan
In July 2001, Brocchi returned to AC Milan. He played alongside famous midfielders like Gennaro Gattuso, Andrea Pirlo, and Clarence Seedorf. He had to work hard to earn his place in the team.
Loan to Fiorentina
In 2005, Brocchi was loaned to Fiorentina. He played a full season there. After his loan, he went back to AC Milan.
More Success at AC Milan
Brocchi played a lot during the 2006–07 season, making 29 appearances in Serie A. He became a key player for manager Carlo Ancelotti, often being the first player to come on as a substitute in midfield. During this period, AC Milan won the UEFA Champions League in 2007 and the FIFA Club World Cup later that year.
Joining Lazio
In August 2008, Brocchi moved to Lazio. He signed a three-year contract. His first season with Lazio was successful, as they won the Coppa Italia. He won the Coppa Italia again with Lazio in 2013.
After the 2012–13 season, Brocchi announced he was retiring from playing football. This was due to ongoing injury problems.
International Appearance
Cristian Brocchi played one game for the Italian national team. This was a friendly match against Turkey on November 15, 2006. The game ended in a 1-1 draw.
Coaching Career
Early Coaching Roles
On April 12, 2016, Brocchi became the head coach of AC Milan. Before this, he had coached the AC Milan youth team since 2014. However, his time as head coach of the main team was short. He was replaced by Vincenzo Montella on June 28, 2016.
Brocchi then coached Serie B club Brescia during the 2016–17 season. He was removed from his role in March 2017 because of poor results. After that, he worked as an assistant coach for Fabio Capello at Chinese club Jiangsu Suning.
Coaching Monza
In October 2018, Brocchi became the new head coach of Serie C club Monza. The club was owned by former AC Milan bosses Silvio Berlusconi and Adriano Galliani. In his first season, Monza did not get promoted.
However, in the 2019–20 Serie C season, Brocchi successfully led Monza to win the Serie C title. This meant they were promoted to Serie B. The goal was to get Monza into Serie A for the first time ever. In the 2020–21 Serie B season, Monza finished third, just missing out on automatic promotion. They lost in the play-off semifinals. Brocchi left Monza in May 2021.
Coaching Vicenza
On September 22, 2021, Brocchi was named the new coach of Vicenza. The team was struggling with relegation. He tried to improve their performance, but he was dismissed on April 11, 2022.
Kings League
In November 2024, Cristian Brocchi was appointed as the head coach for the Kings League team FC Zeta Milano.
Life Outside Football
Outside of his football career, Cristian Brocchi has been involved in other businesses. He opened a cafe in Milan with his former AC Milan teammate Christian Abbiati. He also started a clothing brand called Baci & Abbracci with his friend and fellow footballer Christian Vieri.
