Cristian Brocchi (born January 30, 1976) is a famous Italian football manager and a former player. He was most recently the head coach of Vicenza.
As a player, Brocchi was a defensive midfielder. He was known for being tough and good at tackling. He started his career with his hometown club, AC Milan. Later, he played for other big clubs like Inter Milan and Lazio. He won many important trophies, including the Serie A title and two UEFA Champions League titles. He also played once for the Italian national team.
After retiring as a player, Brocchi became a football manager. He coached several teams, including AC Milan's youth team and the main team for a short time. He also helped Monza get promoted to a higher league.

Playing Career Highlights
Starting Out in Football
Cristian Brocchi began his football journey in the AC Milan youth system. To gain experience, he was loaned to smaller clubs like Pro Sesto and Lumezzane. He then moved to Hellas Verona in 1998. He helped them get promoted to Serie A, which is Italy's top football league.
Time at Inter Milan
In 2000, Inter Milan signed Brocchi. However, his time there was difficult. He faced injuries and the team had a tough season. He later said this was "the worst experience" he had in football.
Returning to AC Milan
In 2001, Brocchi returned to AC Milan. This was a very successful period for the club. He played alongside many famous players like Gennaro Gattuso and Andrea Pirlo. During his time at Milan, he won many major trophies.
Loan to Fiorentina
In 2005, Brocchi was loaned to Fiorentina for a season. He played well there, making 35 appearances. After his loan, he returned to AC Milan.
More Success at AC Milan

Joining Lazio

Cristian Brocchi played one game for the Italian national team. This happened on November 15, 2006. It was a friendly match against Turkey, which ended in a 1-1 draw.
Coaching Career
Early Coaching Roles
Brocchi started his coaching career with the AC Milan youth team in 2014. In April 2016, he became the head coach of the main AC Milan team. However, he only stayed for about a month before being replaced.
After Milan, he coached Brescia in the Serie B league during the 2016–17 season. He later worked as an assistant coach for a Chinese club called Jiangsu Suning.
Coaching Monza
In October 2018, Brocchi became the head coach of Monza. The club was owned by famous former AC Milan leaders, Silvio Berlusconi and Adriano Galliani. Brocchi helped Monza win the 2019–20 Serie C title. This meant they were promoted to Serie B for the first time in 19 years!
Monza aimed to reach Serie A under Brocchi. In the 2020–21 Serie B season, they almost made it, finishing third. However, they lost in the play-offs. Brocchi then left Monza in May 2021.
Coaching Vicenza
On September 22, 2021, Brocchi was named the new coach of Vicenza. The team was struggling with relegation. Despite his efforts, he was dismissed in April 2022.
Life Outside Football
Outside of his football career, Cristian Brocchi has been involved in other businesses. He opened a cafe in Milan with his former Milan teammate Christian Abbiati. He also started his own clothing brand called "Baci & Abbracci" with his friend and fellow footballer Christian Vieri.
